Information

The Community Foundation for South Central New York currently offers two competitive grant programs for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in or serving the residents of Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga counties:

  • the twice-yearly grant cycles for the CommuniFund™, the Foundation’s general fund, which address pressing community needs
  • the annual Women’s Fund grants, which address issues affecting women and girls in the Foundation’s six-county region

For both grant programs, applicants and their projects must meet specific application criteria and follow detailed submission instructions.

The CommuniFund™

Grants from the CommuniFund™ are awarded in each of two competitive grant cycles per year. In 2010, deadlines for receipt of proposals for these grant cycles will be Monday, March 1st at 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m.

Criteria for consideration for these grants are determined by the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation in the last calendar quarter of each year. Click here to access the 2010 CF Grant Guidelines and the 2010 Contact Information Form.  For questions regarding these grants, please contact Program Officer Robert Jensen at (607) 772-6773.

The Women’s Fund

Grants from The Women’s Fund are awarded once each year in a competitive process. The deadline for receipt of proposals is generally mid-September; the specific submission deadline for 2010 will be determined at the time that application criteria and submission instructions, which are subject to annual revision, are finalized by The Women’s Fund Grants and Leadership Committees. Grantseekers should check back on this website in late spring 2010 for the current application guidelines and instructions. Questions regarding these grants may be directed to the Foundation’s Program Officer, Robert Jensen, at (607) 772-6773.
